Add-on Content Paks for Noatikl and Mixtikl

Paks and Intermorphic Tiklpaks™ are simply add-on content collections zipped in such a way to make it extra easy to use in Intermorphic Noatikl and Mixtikl apps, and with some benefits.

Mixtikl and Noatikl both contain a large number of pre-installed Tiklpaks and you can use further add-on content, such as templates, loops and samples, by packaging them as Paks. The content can be from you, others or Intermorphic and it can (for reasons of convenience) be packaged as a "Pak" or "Tiklpak", but it does *not* have to be.

See below on how to install the Tiklpaks.

  1. "Paks" (or "tiklpaks" - i.e. with no capitalisation)
  2. "Tiklpaks"
    • Created, packaged, zipped, quality assured, branded and sold by Intermorphic, e.g. the Intermorphic Audio Loop Collection Tiklpaks
    • You can use them in Mixtikl / Noatikl to make royalty free recordings (subject to their EULA)
    • You know the included content has been set up correctly, and includes associated imagery
    • You can copy content to the clipboard that is based on the pre-installed Tiklpaks

Tiklpaks Description Download
IM ZG Morphing Drum + Bass Morphing Drum + Bass ("MDB")
  • Requires Noatikl 2.5 or later or Mixtikl 6 or later.
  • This is a fun "retrospective" generative Tiklpak of the 1998 SSEYO/Zero-G title "Koan Essentials Morphing Drum + Bass" ("MDB").
  • It comprises the 77 MDB SF2 files (22kHz, mono, created back in 1998 from loops and samples owned by the awesome Zero-G) and the 100 MDB generative Koan SKD templates that referenced them (but converted to Noatikl templates). For Mixtikl users it also includes 4 new demo Mixtikl mixes to give a quick flavour of what can be done when you include some of these SF2 in a mix.
  • Zero-G have kindly allowed us to make the MDB SF2 available for free in this Tiklpak! To show your appreciation, please do visit the Zero-G website.

FAQ - General

If you're having problems loading the loops on your device (some of the loops are large), then try setting the Mixtikl audio output to a lower value e.g. 16Khz stereo, which will force loops to be loaded into memory at that sample rate. On iDevice the default audio output quality for Mixtikl is set at 22KHz Stereo, but you can change that.

To see the Tiklpaks that are in this collection, make sure that the "Loops" check box is checked.

From a Mixer Cell, select the Content list button and then in the Content list select the (..) item to start browsing for content in other Paks.

The Tiklpaks in AL Collection 1 are not embedded in Mixtikl, so for people to hear in mixes content that is in one of these Tiklpaks they need to purchase the Tiklpaks. Until they have the relevant Tiklpaks installed, content cells referencing that content will show as red to indicate the content is not present. Anyone else with AL Collection 1 should be able to play just fine the mix files you make with AL Collection 1.

If your mix references loops from other Collections/Tiklpaks/Paks, then that is fine, too. For people to play them, they just need to have installed those other Tiklpaks/Paks, too (or those content cells referencing that content will show as red to indicate the content is not present).

To use the content you have copied over, in the mixer screen, select a content cell, select the Content button in the Mixer Cell Menu and then select either the "User_Content" pak (e.g. for individual loops you have copied over) or select the ".." folder selector item and then scroll to find your pak (e.g. if you have copied over the IM Audio Loop Paks) and select the file you want to add to your mix. Alternatively, if you have copied over a pak (e.g. the Intermorphic Audio Loop Tiklpaks), then select Menu > New to create a new mix which uses content from those paks (if the paks contain loops, first ensure the Loop checkbox is checked so you can see them!).

Yes, you can, but remember that when not in a correctly formatted Pak they will not be pitch shifted or time stretched if you change the mix root or tempo.

For the content you want to use, simply copy it to the "Intermorphic Folder".

FAQ - iOS

We strongly recommend backing up your content before removing an app from your iOS device, but you are here as you probably did not do that.

You can get your files back if you made an iTunes backup at some point, a backup that contains your Mixtikl/Noatikl files. You need to get the Mixtikl/Noatikl files you want from that backup and copy them off the device. Then, you need to copy them back again. Note that IAP purchase keys are also stored in a backup, but these can be more easily recovered via a Restore in the Mixtikl Store or Noatikl Store, as relevant.

The way an iTunes Restore works is that ALL data in the backup is restored to your device, so if you are restoring an old backup (say something from 3 months ago), it will overwrite everything that you have on your device today. So proceed carefully.

This is the order in which you need to do things (but we are not liable if anything goes wrong!):

  • Back up your device to iTunes now (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766), to create a TODAY backup of you devices as it is today - and make sure you can see that this backup is there (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946).
  • Restore your device from an OLDER backup, that you think contains your files
  • Follow the Copy Out (from Device) instructions from here to create backup copies of your IM App files to your computer.
  • Restore your device to your TODAY backup.
  • Follow the Copy In to Device instructions from here to copy your IM App files back onto your device.
  • Open your IM App and you should be able to access the files you have just copied on to it!
