Mixtikl Options Menu

The Mixtikl Options menu provides you with a number of ways to customise Mixtikl. It can be accessed from the main menu of any application

1 Audio Output:

  • Presents a list of all the audio output options (e.g. 22050 Khz Stereo, the default).
  • Select the option you prefer.

2 Display:

    • Open Mix File Options: value
    • Show: Displays the +<Show Options> entry in the list of mix files for a Pak
    • Hide: +<Show Options> is not displayed in the list of mix files for a Pak
    • Recording Options: value
    • Show: Displays the +<Show Options> entry in the Recording screen
    • Hide: +<Show Options> is not displayed in the Recording screen
    • Record Mic Options: value
    • Show: Displays the +<Show Options> entry in the Mic Recording screen
    • Hide: +<Show Options> is not displayed in the Mic Recording screen
    • Content Options: value
    • Show: Displays the +<Show Options> entry in the Content List
    • Hide: +<Show Options> is not displayed in the Content List
    • Content Full Names: value
    • Show: Displays the file and file extension for items in the Content List
    • Hide: Hides the file extension for items in the Content List
    • Content Auto Preview: value
    • Yes: In the Content List, will automatically scroll through the content list, playing each item for 1 second before moving on to the next
    • No: Does not auto-preview the content (but you can toggle left/right with the nav key to manually preview it.
    • Equaliser Options: value
    • Show: Displays the +<Show Options> entry in the Equaliser list
    • Hide: +<Show Options> is not displayed in the Equaliser list
    • Show Button Pictures: value
    • Show: Displays instrument overlays (e.g. images) on Remixer buttons
    • Hide: Displays the file names on the Remixer buttons

3 Control:

    • Volume Via Nav Key: value
    • Yes: Allows the global volume slider (shown at the bottom of Remixer and Performer) to be changed with the Nav Key.
    • No: Prevents global volume slider to be changed with the Nav Key (sometimes when doing a live mix you would not want to inadvertently change it).
    • Remixer Use Nav Key: value
    • Yes: Allows the Nav Key to be used to navigate/control Remixer.
    • No: Prevents the Nav Key being used to navigate/control the Remixer content buttons (but still allows it to navigate/control the top tool bar).

4 Skin: value:

  • Presents a list of all the skins available for selection.
  • Select the skin you wish to use.
  • Close and restart Mixtikl for the new skin to take effect.

5 Mix Type: value:

  • Audio (default): Mixes will play all content types and record to audio.
  • MIDI: Mixes will only play and record MIDI content.

6 Media Preview...[Option for Player App only]

    • File List: Loop: value
    • ALL: Plays through all content in the file list, and then loops the file list.
    • RND: Plays tracks at random from the file list.
    • ONE: Continuously loops the selected track.
    • OFF: No looping of the playlist or content in the file list.
    • Play List: Loop: value
    • ALL: Plays through all content in the play list, and then loops the play list.
    • RND: Plays tracks at random from the play list.
    • ONE: Continuously loops the selected track.
    • OFF: No looping of the play list or content in the play list.

7 Wavetable: value:

  • Default: the Wavetable included in Mixtikl and used for playing MIDI tracks.
  • If you have other DLS 1 wavetables licensed for your use (e.g. if you are on your Windows XP computer, then there is one under /Windows/system32/drivers/gm.dls) then select "1) Wavetable: Default" and when you see a dialog asking if you want to browse for another wavetable, select the OK button (or softmenu).
  • Select the Wavetable you want.
  • Restart Mixtikl, come back to this option and you will see the following further options:
    1. Wavetable: Custom (value): This is the wavetable selected.
    2. Reduced Flag: value - No or Yes.
    3. Polyphony: value - 32 is the default.
    4. Reverb: value - yes is the default
    5. Chorus: value - yes is the default
    6. Gain Boost: value - 0 db is the default (it determines how loud the Wavetable is)
    7. SP-MIDI: value - yes is the default (does it play SP-MIDI tagged files as intended)
